Roofing Replacement and Repair Options

asphalt-shingles

Asphalt Shingles

An asphalt shingle is one of the most common and cost effective products used today.  Constructed of a fiberglass reinforced mat that is coated with a layer of roofing asphalt on top and bottom with a granule surface.  This granule surface protects the asphalt layers from the suns UV rays, which eventually causes water penetration and/or leakage.  Asphalt shingles come in many styles, colors, weights, architectural looks, and available with fire ratings to meet many building codes. metal-roof

Metal Roofing

Metal roofing boasts excellent strength, durability and fire resistance.  Today’s metal roofing is available in many designer looks and colors that simulate shingles, shakes or slate.  Proven to be a low maintenance product over its lifetime, environmentally friendly, and may be recycled at the end of its life.  Metal roofing is popular for its ability to shed snow and ice more quickly than other roofing products. tile-roof

Tile Roofing

Tile roofing is a concrete or clay manufactured product.  It comes in many colors, shapes, sizes and thicknesses.  As with slate roofing, tile colors can be blended to offer stunning results.  Tile is extremely heavy and may require a structural upgrade to your home.  Tile roofing is marketed with a life cycle of 50-100 years.  It is a fireproof roof.  It is a great product in warmer climate areas.  However, tile roofing has been known to crack and break in freeze-thaw environments.

slate-roofing

Slate Roofing

Slate is a natural product that is quarried from unique parts of the world.  It comes in many colors, sizes and thicknesses.  Colors can be blended to offer stunning results.  It truly is a lifetime product which is fireproof and withstands all types of weather including high winds and hail.  However, it is extremely heavy and may require a structural upgrade to your home.  Although the initial cost may seem overwhelming, these roofs have been proven to last.

wood-shakes

Wood Shakes & Shingles

Wood shakes and shingles are mostly harvested from Western Red Cedar trees and reclaimed tree stumps.  Shakes are then split into many various sizes and thicknesses, whereas shingles are machine sawn into various sizes and thicknesses. Both products are thicker at the butt edge which is the exposed portion when installed.  Wood shakes and shingles are known to offer a better thermal factor than other roofing products.  They can be treated to meet some fire rating codes.  They are light in weight and have a natural wood-like appearance.

flat-roof

Flat Roofing

There are many types of flat roofing products available that offer varying characteristics of performance depending on the application.  All these products are approved for commercial building applications.  For additional detailed information, See Commercial Roofing section.
